Collaboration

As a clinician, you know the power of collaborating with another helping professional who can offer a different perspective. It provides both professional support and deepens our work with clients, which helps them move forward in their healing process.

I offer the following adjunct therapies to support the work that you’re doing with your clients:

  • Individual Intensives
  • Attachment-Focused EMDR
  • Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Individual Intensives

An immersive, transformative experience tailored to the needs of your client. A standard 50-minute session doesn’t always allow for the depth of work vital to the trauma healing process.

This is where concentrated healing work can be helpful. I’ve referred my clients to Intensives over the years, and they always help us move forward in our work together.

My Intensives provide approximately 10 hours of concentrated, one-on-one therapy over the course of 5 days. This format allows us to dive deep into the core of your clients’ trauma, unlocking breakthroughs that may be difficult to achieve within the constraints of a traditional weekly session.

These Intensives are ideal for clients who:

  • Are already engaged in regular trauma/family-of-origin therapy with you
  • Have a solid understanding of their trauma history
  • Possess effective self-care and emotional regulation skills

By referring your clients to work with me in this immersive format, you’ll be equipping them with the tools they need to make profound progress in their healing journey.

Attachment-Focused EMDR

Attachment-focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) is an innovative client-centered approach that builds on the foundational framework of traditional EMDR. It’s an adapted protocol with an attachment-repair focus.

As a clinician trained in both traditional and Attachment-Focused EMDR, the latter offers two primary differences for my clients and for me:

  1. At the heart of AF-EMDR lies a robust 4-part resourcing experience that is foundational to the protocol. By guiding clients to connect with their inner resources of Peaceful Place, Nurturing Figures, Protector Figures, and Wise Figures, we empower them to regulate their nervous systems and build resilience—essential components for working through complex trauma.
  2. The flow of the AF-EMDR protocol is right-brained focused, meaning once the neural network related to the trauma is activated, the protocol flows from there with less interruption of left-brain activation.

AF-EMDR is relationship and attachment-focused and client-centered, making it a powerful modality for those with early attachment trauma.

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy

I have the incredible opportunity to offer Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) services at Bridle Paths in collaboration with my colleague Katie Fallon. Katie and I are both certified through the Equine Growth and Learning Association (Eagala) as an equine specialist and a mental health professional, respectively.

Katie, the horses, and I work as a team to provide a space for clients to engage with their story in an experiential way. The healing power of horses guides each session. By engaging with these majestic animals, clients embark on a transformative journey, unlocking insights and breakthroughs that traditional talk therapy simply cannot provide.

EAP is designed to complement the ongoing work you’re doing with your clients. I collaborate with referring therapists to decide goals for each EAP experience and provide updates and consultations after each session. Your client will bring the insights gained from their EAP experience into their sessions with you so you can work with them to process and integrate what they have learned.
